Canadian reseller fee guide · October 2026
Kijiji is the last big Canadian marketplace where the deal is actually free: $0 commission, $0 listing fee, no checkout markup in buy/sell categories. You and the buyer settle in cash or e-Transfer at pickup, and Kijiji never touches the money. That makes it the cheapest place to sell in Canada — if the item is the kind people buy locally.
| Category | Listing cost | Commission on sale |
|---|---|---|
| Buy & Sell (general items) | $0 | $0 |
| Promoted/featured ad (optional) | paid, varies | — |
| Vehicles, jobs, real estate, services | paid tiers | — |
Promotions are visibility upgrades only — the underlying sale still costs nothing. Price and rate cards change; verify current promoted-ad pricing in your category before paying for one.
| Platform | Fees + tax on fees | You keep* |
|---|---|---|
| Kijiji (local pickup) | $0.00 | $100.00 |
| Facebook local pickup | $0.00 | $100.00 |
| Facebook — shipped | $14.43 | $85.57 |
| eBay.ca | $20.08 | $79.92 |
| Poshmark Canada | $22.60 | $77.40 |
*After fees only; item cost not deducted. eBay/Facebook figures assume $13 shipping charged to the buyer (pass-through). On Kijiji there's no shipping — the buyer collects in person.
For small, shippable goods with national demand, the calculus flips — more bidders on eBay or Facebook usually outweigh Kijiji's $0. That's exactly the comparison FlipMath runs in one screen.
No. In buy/sell categories there is no success fee, no payment processing fee, no payout fee — because Kijiji isn't in the payment path at all. The sale is between you and the buyer.
For high-value items in crowded categories, a bump can be worth it — the math is simple: if a few dollars of promotion speeds up a $200 sale you'd make anyway, it's positive EV. For cheap items, skip it; reposting with fresh photos and a sharper title is free and often works just as well.
Technically you can arrange shipping privately with a buyer, but Kijiji explicitly warns against it and you lose every protection. Kijiji is a local-pickup platform; if you want to ship, use eBay, Facebook shipped checkout, or Vinted instead.
Buy/sell listings are free in normal quantities; Kijiji limits how many identical or active ads one account runs (limits vary by category) to discourage spam. Deleting old ads and varying your listings keeps you well inside them.
